After nearly a decade of being in- and out- of the gym, I decided it was time to get serious about my fitness goals. After a quick online search about personal trainers near my neighborhood, Urban Strength Institute easily floated to the top.
Chris was quick to respond to my initial inquiry through the USI website and asked good questions to understand more about my goals as well as current eating and fitness habits.
My whole life, I’ve been known as “hardgainer” meaning it’s very difficult for me to put on weight … and I had a challenging goal to gain 20 pounds. From the start, Chris developed a training regimen specifically with my goals in mind; what’s more is that when we train, Chris not only demonstrates how to properly do an exercise, but also which muscle groups it works and why the specific movements of an exercise are advantageous to those muscle groups. When people talk about you being a “student” at USI, this is what they mean – you’re there to train and achieve your goals, but you’re also learning about functions of the body in a way that bring more understanding to exercise as a whole.
And then there’s the results. For me, it’s the first time I’ve ever seen results from training ever. To date, I’m up 10 pounds, and have received compliments from friends and family who have noticed physical changes in my body. My arms and legs are bigger and more toned, and almost weekly during training, I notice that I’m able to lift more weight.
It’s clear that Chris is a skilled professional who is adept in understanding personal goals of his trainees and writing programs that help get them to where they want to be.
If you’re searching for a gym and trainer to help you finally achieve your fitness goals, stop your search. Urban Strength Institute is the answer.
